New Subscribers
Your new photo makes you look tired, which you probably are after the banner first year you've experienced as the publisher of San Diego’s most interesting publication (and chaser of two toddlers!). In the previous photo you look more energetic and excited. I vote to bring back the other photo.
I am all for regional patriotism. I try to "buy American" (which as everyone knows gets tougher and tougher). I am, since '68, a San Diegan who enthusiastically supports San Diego-based businesses. I am glad to know that the Metropolitan is 100 percent owned and operated by San Diegans. I hope you can keep it that way. In the mail is my check for an annual subscription to your fine publication.

I greatly appreciate your publication. I appreciate Gary Shaw's integrity and to have Woody back is "heaven on earth." Please enroll me as a subscriber.

What About Us?
I don’t fault the owners of Merchants Passage for an anemic caption describing our Centre City commercial neighborhood as an area "populated with small galleries." But Metropolitan (Sept. issue) should be aware that within half a block of the photographed property are two warehouses redeveloped into antiques malls totaling 40,000 square feet. This is in addition to office buildings, a salon, lofts and cafés — but no galleries! (They, along with a farmers-type market, dry cleaners, lofts, hotels and print shops are located several blocks away.)

Drop Defenses
Congrats on a great first year. Don't sound so defensive on Jason Hughes, even though it did raise quite a stir in the brokerage community.
