Branding The Sempra Name

    First SDG&E, then Enova, now Sempra. Bearing three monikers over the last four years isn’t the greatest idea for a company looking to make a name for itself. Expect that to change. Sempra Energy has big plans to become a national brand through a variety of aggressive promotion and advertising efforts.
    Much of its marketing push will be tied to sports, officials say. In Los Angeles, Sempra has signed on as a major sponsor of the new Staples Center. Its sign will be a permanent fixture at the home of the Lakers and Kings sports teams as will an interactive display touting Sempra's products and services. In San Diego, talks continue with the Padres about naming rights at the future Downtown ballpark.
