Michael Harris is the new CEO at RCG Management, a provider of executive management services for high-growth companies. Harris spent 20 years at Anderson Consulting, including 10 years as a partner. Regina Brunton is the new brokerage manager for the San Diego office of Berkshire Financial Group, Southern California. She has more than 15 years of experience in the field, most recently as life operations manager for Sentra Securities. She will continue in her new position to work in business insurance and pension planning for small businesses and individuals. Jana Billings, v.p./service center manager of Valle de Oro Bank is president of the San Diego County Group of Financial Women International. She is a 25-year veteran of the banking industry.
San Diego National Bank promoted Janet Colucci to assistant v.p./small business administration officer. Colucci brings 16 years of experience to the position. Thomas S. Sayles, v.p. of governmental and community affairs at Sempra Energy, was appointed by the governor to serve on a volunteer task force on diversity that will seek ways to involve diverse groups in education and state contract work. Simply Internet, a Skylynx Co., has formed a Business Services Division in San Diego that will service the Southern California market. The division is managed by Greg Lowthian, who joins the company after five years coordinating e-commerce solutions for Internet Services and Training in Las Vegas. Also at Simply Internet, Rene Contreras has been appointed corporate accounts manager and Steve Gordon senior business services representative. Randall Brungardt joined Palomar Savings and Loan as assistant v.p. for commercial banking. Previously, he was with Fallbrook National Bank. Goldman Ferguson Partners, Corporate Realty Advisors named John W. Jarvis a principal. With the firm since 1993, Jarvis has represented high-tech companies. Rob Gayhart joined Concepts International, a meeting management firm, as chief operating officer. Previously he served as secretary treasurer and chief financial officer at National Manufacturing Technologies. The newest appointments announced by Science Applications International Corp. include: Lane Sloan who begins in January as executive v.p., moving from Shell Oil Co. where he has been for 29 years; Kent Greenes, hired as chief knowledge officer, bringing 22 years of oil industry experience, most recently at British Petroleum; Eric Hyde, bringing a background in telecommunications and the automotive industry, is a new v.p. for corporate development; and William J. Nydam, formerly with Premiere Inc., is group senior v.p. of the Health Solutions Group and CEO of Oacis Healthcare, an SAIC subsidiary.
Taylor Made-adidas Golf hired Merle Marting as director of brand communications, a new position. He will serve as part of a team designed to take the company brand worldwide. UCSD Connect Athena named Dawn Cicero as program manager. Previously she was program manager of Project Mercury at the San Diego Regional Technical Alliance. Path 1 Network Technologies Inc. named Yendo Hu as v.p. of video products. Previously he was director of systems engineering at Tiernan Communications Inc. where he helped establish exclusive HDTV distribution to ABC and NBC television networks. A new partner with Brierton & Jones, Julie A. Jones, is working out of the firm's Downtown San Diego office. She moved from Mulvaney Kahan & Barry. Zoe Prescott was named project manager for Johnson & Jennings General Contracting, not Johnson & Johnson as incorrectly reported last month. The Metropolitan regrets the error. RSM McGaldrey Inc. promoted Matt Bradvica to senior manager of its San Diego office, where Bradvica has been since transferring in 1996 from Minneapolis. Michael Blackwell was named national director of sales and marketing for Priority Pharmacy Inc., a prescription service that offers next-day home-delivery service. He joins the San Diego location from Chicago with seven years experience in pharmaceutical sales and 12 years in marketing and advertising. In June, Priority Online was launched to offer online prescription and refill services. Joe Dietzler joined the Carlsbad office of Colliers International as research department analyst. Prior to joining Colliers, Dietzer was contract manager for Varco Drilling Inc. in Orange County. Donna Thomas was promoted to assistant v.p. and James Laverty was hired as an associate with John Burnham & Co. Insurance Services. Thomas joined the firm in 1971 and served as both a claims and senior claims representative. Laverty has been in the business for 12 years. David Livengood was promoted to director of customer fulfillment for Cox Communications San Diego. Livengood began with Cox in San Diego and worked for the company’s United Kingdom and Atlanta operations before returning for this assignment. Also joining Cox is Shelita Weinfield, government and community relations representative. She previously worked in the county's chief administrative office. The new v.p. of academic affairs at Grossmont College is Dean Colli, who was dean of college services at Modesto Junior College. Chris Naire joined Voit Commercial Brokerage. He left John Burnham & Co. after 11 years, during which he was named top producer. Naire is an industrial/R & D specialist. Hired by Roel Construction Co. as superintendents were Steve Erickson, formerly with William G. Tadlock, Arnie Gallegos, who was with Gilmore Construction, and Gregg Alley, previously with Pacific Building Industries. Also hired was Jano Montoya, formerly with Caltrans, as project engineer. Smith Consulting Architects appointed Michael Kaesler project architect. Kaesler provided architectural design services for The Lofts, a residential development in Downtown, and the Hyatt Regency of La Jolla at the Aventine. Newly elected to the San Diego Symphony board of directors is Marsha Lindsey, area v.p. for external affairs at Pacific Bell. Marston & Marston announced Rob Schupp as the public relations firm's new v.p. and Ginny Ward as an account executive. In addition to public relations, Schupp has been an editor for the San Diego Daily Transcript and the California Real Estate Journal. Ward previously served as deputy press secretary for Mayor Susan Golding and communications director for Assemblyman George Runner (R-Palmdale). Pattie Walker will oversee home sales in San Diego’s South County as regional sales manager at Shea Homes San Diego Inc. Walker joined Shea in 1993 as a sales associate. Tim Chelling joined The Flannery Group as senior media counsel. He was deputy press secretary for former Mayor Pete Wilson, director of editorial and community relations at NBC-TV, and director of public and media relations for Cox Communications. Joe Harper, president, CEO and g.m. of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, received the Diogenes Award from the San Diego Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Leap Wireless International Inc. appointed William R. Hinchliff as senior v.p. of joint venture operations, making him responsible for oversight of operating companies in Mexico and Chile. His 20 years of experience includes operations in Latin America. Joining the Children's Museum board is Michael Mark, president and director of Matthews/Mark, an integrated marketing and communications agency. Elizabeth Jaeschke rejoined the property management firm of N.N. Jaeschke Inc. Jaeschke worked in the family-run business from her teens and left in 1997 to pursue other interests. Appointed to head San Diego County's Department of Parks and Recreation is County Parks Chief Susan Hector. Hector, who holds a doctorate degree in anthropology, handled the Parks Department's Multiple Species Conservation planning and historic preservation projects. Two new associates at Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps are Donna Fazio, a former associate of Gordon & Rees, and Kathy Keller, a 1999 graduate of the Virginia School of Law. Christopher Calisi is the new CEO of Blue Sky Software Corp. in La Jolla. He has 19 years in the computer industry, most recently with Symantic Inc. San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency named Cathy Spearnak public information officer. She is a former newspaper reporter and was a media relations specialist for Sharp HealthCare from 1990 to 1996. CB Richard Ellis named Trent France v.p. of the Carlsbad office. France joined the company in 1994. Thomas Tschudin was named director of business development for San Diego based Koll Construction. Tschudin returns to Koll with more that 25 years of experience managing and supervising high-profile construction projects. New professors at Thomas Jefferson School of Law are Raymond Ku, formerly at St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami; Susan Tiefenbrun, most recently with Hofstra University School of Law in New York; Steven Semeraro, formerly in practice as a trial lawyer for the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice. Jonathan Kahn, who leaves Bard College in New York and will spend a year teaching at Harvard before starting at Thomas Jefferson; and Teresa Gills, a visiting professor for one semester. Marketing veteran Lucia Morales is the new marketing manager and Mike Salaza is a new v.p. of sales for Tiscor, a provider of mobile management solutions since 1982. Salaza was founder and CEO of Point-of-Care Systems Inc. Bonnie J. Russell joined Southern California Soil & Testing Inc. as director of marketing & business development. She was formerly director of marketing with Petra Geotechnical. Russell has worked in the environmental services and marketing fields for 11 years. The San Diego Convention and Vistors Bureau promoted Kerri Verbeke Kapich to associate v.p. of marketing and director of product development. Kapich joined the bureau two years ago after 10 years in advertising, most recently as director of client service at Chapman Warwick. Two new associates in the law firm of Seltzer Caplan Wilkins & McMahon are Jennifer Long, litigation department, and Jason Belice, business department. Long was formerly a human resources specialist with Qualcomm. Belice was corporate counsel/director of contracting at Cove HealthCare Inc. in La Jolla. After three years with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of San Diego and Imperial Counties, Stafford McCullough was named v.p. of agency operations. McCullough has 19 years experience in the industry. Hunter Industries named Monte Porter as the first g.m. for Hunter Golf, a new division of the irrigation equipment manufacturer. Porter has worked in Hunter's manufacturing division for the past 12 years. Named executive director of the San Diego Council on Literacy was Dennis Smith. Jose Cruz, acting director, became associate director. Smith was formerly director of development for San Diego Center for the Blind. University and State Employees Credit Union named Christianna Connell loan products and service manager. Previously she managed the risk management department at National Bankcard Association. ICH Corporation promoted Glen V. Freter to senior v.p. and chief financial officer. Freter served as v.p., controller and senior financial analyst since joining the company in March, 1998. Shannon Schulz joined Brookfield Homes as marketing coordinator. She previously was marketing coordinator for DT Landgroup, a Texas-based company. J. Dallas Clark of the Maleda Partnership, a private investment company, and Bert Salonen, an international banker who is San Diego’s honorary consul general of Finland, joined the board of the Mingei International Museum. The Willis Allen Co. hired Judi Finneran as a sales associate. Finneran was with North County real estate for nine years, three of them as the top selling agent in her office. Project Concern International, a nonprofit health organization, named Paul Thompson president and CEO. He formerly was president and CEO of MAP International and worked 18 years at World Vision, both nonprofit international organizations. |
