David and Cecelia Conover, the owners of Studio Conover, a communication design and architectural color consultation studio in Little Italy, are playing a role in the design of new buildings Downtown. Over the last 15 years the couple has created a business that combines graphic design and architectural color expertise for a variety of commercial and residential developments throughout San Diego and the Southwest.

Among the projects the company has worked on is Bridgeworks in the Gaslamp Quarter. Cecelia says her challenge “was to identify the appropriate exterior color for the building’s historical facade and to select complementary colors for the remaining structure to tie into the century-old district. What architects, developers and builders are now recognizing is how important color is to a project, and how the use of the right color affects one’s perception about a building or dwelling.”

Jeremy Cohen, the developer of Bridgeworks, praised Studio Conover for its work.

“Cecelia was instrumental in re-establishing an historic sense of color and materials use that we feel will remain timeless,” says Cohen of SD Malkin Properties.

David created all the marketing and promotional materials for the project. “Having the creative strengths of both David and Cecelia on this project has been extremely beneficial to us and helped us achieve the kind of success we were striving for,” says Cohen.
