Angela Amoroso-Floyd
choreographs worlds for children

With her 5-year-old daughter in tow, Angela Amoroso-Floyd moved to California from New York in 1987 and started Scripps Performing Arts Centre for children. Sharing her mother with 300 other 3- to 12-year-olds, daughter Jeanne Marie was alongside helping choreograph mom’s business and her life.

Amoroso-Floyd later started a separate organization, the all-children’s nonprofit performing company Super*Kids. Super*Kids is dedicated to children’s awareness of environmental concerns, world health, peace and community service. The organization teaches dance, music and drama to all ages of children in order to boost self-esteem and build social skills.

Through outreach programs, Amoroso-Floyd has worked with Children’s Hospital raising funds during its expansion. In addition, she produces an all-children’s Nutcracker, directs Earth Day performances and has organized a concert benefiting Becky’s House. Amoroso-Floyd was instrumental in the creation of a children’s rheumatoid arthritis foundation also at Children’s Hospital.

Amoroso-Floyd’s daughter is still behind the curtain of her mom’s life and has shown pride in her mother’s hard work by nominating her for 40 under Forty recognition.
