A Marketplace Education

Jeff Creighton launched an
Internet site for higher learning

Jeff Creighton is the 37-year-old founder and chairman of EduPoint.com, which offers more than 1.5 million courses and online enrollment at nationwide learning institutions.

While earning his MBA at Pepperdine University, Creighton at 25 founded his first business, Bonzai Recreation, an equipment and apparel company for those on the extreme edge of recreation. When Bonzai captured 50 percent of the market in its first year, Creighton realized the endless possibilities of entrepreneurship.

After receiving his MBA, Creighton worked in the Pepperdine Corporate Relations Department, where he witnessed the challenges of continuing education for working adults, and after leaving the university, founded the Educational Consulting Group to foster alliances between corporate clients and educational institutions. With a focused dedication to learning, Creighton drew upon his earlier experience with Bonzai and leveraged the power of the Internet to create one of the first Web sites for lifelong learning: The Interactive College Resource Center, the predecessor to EduPoint.com.

Creighton has served as chairman of the board for Lifesteps Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering developmentally disabled individuals.
