Patricia Frosio was 26 when she began her term as president of San Diego County Crime Stoppers. Three and a half years later, at age 30, she remains in that position, managing a 25-member board of directors and representatives from other law enforcement agencies. But that is her volunteer position. Her daytime job is chief of staff to Walter Ekard, chief administrative officer for the County of San Diego. Frosio works closely with the county’s executive team to implement policies directed by the Board of Supervisors and coordinates the day-to-day operations and functions of the chief administrative office. “It’s hard to make what I do sound interesting,” jokes Frosio of her public service career. (Of course, those interested in some kind of a relationship with the county find what she does very interesting.) Frosio is president of the San Diego chapter of the American Society for Public Administration, a professional group for government employees. In addition to her six-year tenure with Crime Stoppers, Frosio is on the board of the San Diego Crime Commission. Besides having received local service association awards, she also received a national award from the FBI. ![]() Patricia Frosio is chief of staff to Walter Ekard and volunteers as president of Crime Stoppers. |
