Quickly locating and retrieving internal documents for use in current legal matters is critical to every law firm. A San Diego-based software development company believes it has a product that will make life simpler for lawyers and their staff members. Recently released by Art Street Interactive, DisclosureOne is designed to streamline the process for law firms to file, manage and gain access to internal documents - information such as case files, contracts and deposition histories. It is designed as a companion to Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and other online legal resources. "DisclosureOne's biggest benefit is its versatility," says Greg Hechler, owner and applications director of Art Street, which is located in the Gaslamp Quarter. "It can be used by huge, multi-office groups with literally thousands of documents and immense staffs, or by a small, one-office firm." DisclosureOne, which is used in conjunction with a standard Web browser, has a "drag-and-drop" interface. "To add a document to the repository, users just click on a document and drag it on top of a DisclosureOne icon," Hechler explains. The software, which can be hosted in-house or by Art Street, is tailored to each client, depending on needs. "We meet with the client and customize the user interface according to the types of documents they wish to include," Hechler says. The one-time cost the of the product varies, depending on customer needs, with the range being $4,000 to $10,000. - Larry M Edwards |
