Ken and Margie Blanchard, co-founders of The Ken Blanchard Companies, have named Holly Green as their company’s president. Prior to the Blanchard organization, Green worked for Thinkologies in Atlanta, Ga. Harriet Bailiss-Sustarsic has been promoted to president and chief merchandising officer of Charlotte Russe Holding Inc. Bailiss-Sustarsic has been with the firm for five years and previously held the positions of executive v.p. and general merchandise manager. Front Porch Inc. has promoted Matt Stamper to v.p. of strategic alliances and Rhea Willoughby to the company’s director of Asia. Prior to joining the company in 1999, Stamper worked with AT&T’s Global Services and served as an international account executive. Willoughby joined the company in 2000, having previously managed real estate, high technology and media projects.
The San Diego Symphony Association has named John De Michele as director of development. De Michele brings 30 years of experience in fund-raising, management and sales to the company, most recently as v.p. for the National Jewish Medical and Research Center. Reynolds C. Bish has been elected to serve as vice chairman/ chairman elect of AIIM International’s board of directors. Bish has more than 20 years of experience in information capture and has been chairman, president and CEO of Captiva Software Corp. since founding the company in 1989. Charlotte P. Clark has joined Biocept Inc. as chief business officer and executive v.p. Clark has more than 15 years of experience in business development and finance in the healthcare industry and previously served as v.p. of business development at Myelos Corp. Charles H. Dick Jr. has been elected to a four-year term as a National Trustee for the American Inns of Court Foundation. Dick is a partner at the San Diego office of Baker & McKenzie. George E. Fleming, senior counsel and member of the litigation practice group, has become a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Fleming was inducted into the college at the spring meeting in Boca Raton, Fla. The New School of Architecture awarded an honorary bachelor of architecture degree to James Hubbell. Julie Jennings has joined American Health Specialty as v.p. of operations. Jennings has more than 16 years of health care management experience, most recently as a co-founder and managing partner of 2C Solutions. Sandy Ward also has joined the company as v.p. of regulatory compliance and contracts. Ward has 13 years of health care regulatory compliance experience, most recently as director of regulatory affairs and regional compliance officer with Aetna U.S. Healthcare and Prudential Healthcare. Dr. Michael Plopper has been appointed as president of the San Diego Psychiatric Society. Plopper serves as the medical director of Sharp Healthcare’s behavioral science services. e.Digital Corp. has appointed Jim Collier as COO. Jane Rinhard has resigned her position as CFO and operations manager of the same company due to her spouse’s employment relocation to the Midwest. Collier has more than 20 years of experience in operations, corporations, manufacturing, and product management. U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer has added Humberto Peraza to her staff as San Diego area director. Peraza served most recently on the staff of congressman Xavier Becerra in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. Arnett Construction has hired Debra Aitken as v.p. of marketing for their San Diego and Los Angeles offices. Aitken has more than 20 years experience in sales and marketing. Pacific Building Group has named Bob Brandenburg its new project superintendent. Prior to joining the company, Brandenburg was project superintendent for Fisher Development Inc. Charles Leinbach has joined The McCulley Group as director of its new WhatLab division. Leinbach comes to the company with more than 20 years of experience in design and education. Lisa Aldava has been promoted to senior recruiter at Spherion Professional Recruiting. Greg Warren has joined T-Systems International Inc. as national marketing manager. MC Direct has hired new account executive Mark Hersh and promoted three employees at its corporate headquarters in Poway. Irving brings to the company more than 10 years of management experience, most recently as CEO of Solutions Media Inc. David Taylor has been appointed the new CEO by SeminarSource. Taylor brings with him 19 years of high technology business experience, most recently as CEO, president, and director at Enonymous.com. Ann T. Fathy received the Directors’ Award from the Centre City Development Corp. board in recognition of her community service and commitment to the advancement of Downtown’s redevelopment program. Capstone Advisors has added Teri Ferguson to its residential division as residential asset manager. Ferguson has more than 20 years of experience within residential development and construction accounting/finance for local firms. Di Zinno Thompson has added Adelina Dequito, Eileen Haley, Robert Johnson, Kristi Schaffter and Andrea Schuman as part of its overall re-engineering program. Project manager Dequito comes to the agency from Marketing Design Group. Haley, also a project manager, joins the team after several years as a freelance producer and photostylist. Johnson joins as a senior business strategist, having most recently worked as v.p. at Tenth Dimension Marketing. Joining the agency after tenure at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood, Scaffter is an account strategist. Schuman, previously an account executive at Lambesis, also was hired as a project manager. Richard Slack has been appointed as general manager for Golden Acorn Casino & Travel Center. Slack brings to the company more than 23 years of experience in the gaming industry, most recently as casino marketing executive at New York New York in Las Vegas. Previo has promoted Mary Tucker to managing director, Americas and Pacific Rim Sales, and Kevin Thiele will take on all channel sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Tucker was previously director of business development. Thiele was the managing director for Europe and managed direct sales for that region. The company also eliminated the position of v.p. of worldwide sales and services. Gary Callanan, who previously filled this position, is leaving the company but will continue to work in a consulting capacity over the coming months. Linda Menashe, of Chicago Title and Chris Pascale, of CB Richard Ellis will co-chair the real estate industry’s third annual Deal Maker’s Bash. Charles Hughes, assistant city clerk of Oceanside, has been awarded the prestigious designation of certified municipal clerk from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks for achieving its high educational, experience and service requirements. Douglas E. Barnhart Inc. has added Bruce Barker and Charles Black Jr. to its staff as superintendents. Barker has 32 years of construction experience and Black has 19. Pomerado Wound Care Clinic added plastic surgeon Dr. Yale Kadesky and vascular surgeon Dr. Marc Sedwitz to its multi-disciplinary team of physicians.
Thomas Thale has been appointed senior portfolio manager for private clients of First National Bank's Trust and Wealth Management Group and Generations Trust Bank. Prior to joining First National Bank in 1999, Thale was affiliated with Bank of America and Home Federal Savings and Loan. Richard A. Logan has joined Bank of Coronado as v.p. and commercial loan officer. Logan brings with him 20 years of diversified commercial experience. Roel Construction Co. has hired Shea Laserna as options manger and Heather Costello as marketing assistant. Laserna previously worked for Options Online. Kimberly A. Stewart and Karin D. San Diego National Bank has added to its staff Vincent A. Di Tomaso as v.p., commercial lending officer and Teri Kahookele as customer service manager. Before joining the bank, Di Tomaso was the v.p. of commercial loans for California Bank & Trust. Kahookele previously worked as the assistant v.p. and electronic banking manager at US Bank. Lily Bachor has been appointed to the position of senior escrow officer for Chicago Title. Weyand, v.p. of government and education markets at Compaq Computer Corp., has been appointed to the board at EDmin.com. Morrison & Foerster announced that Karen Babyak Dow has joined their San Diego firm as a partner. Dow comes from the Palo Alto office of Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP, where she was an established partner in the Chemical/Biotechnology Patent Practice Group. William “David” Olson has joined Leighton and Associates’ San Diego office as a senior project engineer. Olson, a geotechnical and environmental engineer, has more than 15 years of experience in civil engineering, and previously served as a project manager working on the U.S. Navy’s Remedial Action Contract program. La Jolla Pharmaceutical Co. has added William R. Ringo to its board. Ringo served Eli Lilly and Co. in executive leadership roles for 28 years, most recently as president of the oncology and critical care products unit. With this addition, LJP's board will increase to seven members. LearningFramework Inc. has appointed Armin Afsahi as regional director of client development. Afsahi has worked in the learning and business arenas for more than a decade. Jeff Heath has been promoted from advisory engineer to chief scientist at Hughes Network Systems offices in Sorrento Mesa. Steven H. Taylor has joined the Pacific Building Group as an estimator.
