The San Diego County Taxpayers Association has chosen Geoff Patnoe as the new executive director. SDCTA has been without an executive director since the departure of Scott Barnett last December. Patnoe previously was with Weber Shandwick Worldwide. *** Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich has hired Clifford Hyatt as special counsel. Hyatt was previously with the SEC as the deputy assistant regional director of the Pacific regional office. *** John Ross Wertz, an attorney and partner with Sullivan, Wertz, McDade & Wallace, has joined Vista Hill as a member of the board. *** Robert Richley has been promoted to COO and general counsel at Douglas Wilson Cos. Richley, a veteran banking executive and business attorney, previously was senior v.p. for the company. *** San Diego National Bank has announced that Lisa Wright will serve as the new sales and service initiative manager. Wright brings with her more than 20 years’ experience. The bank’s Mission Valley branch has promoted Lori Rimoldi to assistant manager/operations officer. Rimoldi is a veteran of the banking industry, serving more than 13 years in management and customer service. Peter Carr has been promoted to SBA lending officer from the bank’s credit department. Eric Larsen has been promoted to senior v.p./CFO and Gordon Boerner to senior v.p./director of business and community development. Larsen previously served SDNB as an accountant. West, UCSD professor of medicine, has won the Edward Livingston Trudeau Medal, the highest award of the American Thoracic Society, for his scientific contributions to the control, prevention and treatment of lung disease. *** Dalouge Smith is new chair of the San Diego Regional Arts and Culture Coalition. *** Allison & Partners has opened a new office in San Diego that will be led by the new managing director, Jeff Davis. *** Psychiatrist Rodrigo A. Munoz has been installed as the president of the San Diego County Medical Society for 2002. Munoz is the first psychiatrist to be named president of the more than 100-year-old organization. *** Angie Dorrington, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, has been promoted to director of marketing at Castle Advertising. The agency also announces the addition of Louisa Raney and Courtney Regan. Raney is a recent graduate of San Diego State University and Regan graduated from the University of San Diego. *** Diane Pearson has been appointed to the board of the YWCA of San Diego. Pearson, an active member with the YWCA since 1997, previously was the CFO and v.p. of Recon Environmental Inc. *** Congregation Beth Israel has named Harvey Raben to its newly created position of director of education. Raben, who will join the congregation as head of its wide-ranging day school and religious school programs in July 2002, was selected as the result of a national search. *** ZipRealty has hired George Turner as district manager for San Diego County. Turner was most recently at One Source Realty. *** Procopio Cory Hargreaves & Savitch has hired Thomas Coverstone as partner. Coverstone is a former law clerk for U.S. District Court Judge James C.
