*** Regent Bank has hired Darla Clark as senior v.p. and funding officer. Most recently, Clark was with Scripps Bank and La Jolla Bank & Trust. *** Former president and CEO Barry A. Wilson has been appointed chairman and secretary of the board of HFMC Inc. the general partner for Huntington Capital. Wilson succeeds Dick Huntington, who passed away in January. *** Paul I. Meyer has been elected president of The Old Globe Theatres. Meyer will succeed Harvey P. White, chairman and CEO of Leap Wireless International, who served for two years. Meyer has been a member of the Globe's board for eight years. He is a partner in the San Diego office of Latham & Watkins *** Scott Wilson has joined Southwest Community Bank as v.p. business banking manager. Wilson will head up the bank’s business development activities in San Diego and El Cajon. Wilson was recently with Bank of Coronado. *** Isabel Hall, senior v.p. and regional manager of McMillin Realty, has been promoted to g.m. of the countrywide real estate brokerage. Quinn brings more than 20 years’ expertise in financial services, real property and hospitality law. *** Colleen Rudy has been appointed press secretary for Mayor Dick Murphy. Rudy replaces Elena Christano, now director of communications. *** Michael Dullea joins Stewart Title Guaranty Co.’s San Diego office as v.p. and underwriting counsel. Dullea previously worked at Chicago Title. *** Castle Access has named Mark Barlow COO, Mark Hopperton chief technology officer and Joseph Alfrey CFO. Barlow has more than 20 years’ experience in a range of operations management positions in the retail, publishing and sports center industries. Previously, Barlow was with Palos Software. Hopperton is a specialist in computer design and has developed numerous original computer programs to address internal operational requirements for a range of corporate clients. Alfrey has nine years’ financial and accounting experience and previously was with Alaris Medical. *** Steve Aledort is the 2001 top producer for General Mortgage Corp. Steve originated more than one loan per day for the entire year, including holidays and weekends, totaling $73 million in loan originations. His funded loan volume exceeded $64 million dollars. *** Robert Tjosvold has been appointed San Diego market president for Bank of America. Tjosvold will continue in his position as senior v.p. and commercial market executive. *** Dr. Theodore C. Friedmann, professor of pediatrics, the Muriel Jeannette Whitehill chair in Biomedical Ethics, and director, UCSD Program in Human Gene Therapy, has been named chair of the Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee of the National Institutes of Health. ***

Gorgas has acted for five years as a senior project manager/design team leader overseeing the Butsko utility design engineering, design and drafting team. Michael manages the San Diego division, and has more than 21 years of utility planning, design and project management experience. Perez has been senior project manager for five years and has more than 26 years of overhead and underground electric, gas distribution and right-of-way expertise. Pettersen oversees the operations for the company’s greater Southern California regions, and has a diverse background gained from more than 20 years in the utility industry. Bowermaster began teaching at Cal Western in 1998. Mark Weinstein has been appointed associate dean for administration. Weinstein has been with the college since 1992. *** LJ Edgcomb has been appointed president of Pulte Homes’ Southern California division. Previously, Edgcomb was at John Laing Homes in Orange County. *** KMA Architecture & Engineering has hired Debra Aitken as v.p. of business development. Aitken has more than two decades of business development experience in the United States and Canada. *** Robert Strauss will replace the retiring John Mabee as chairman of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Betty Mabee, wife of John, also has joined the board. Betty is the second woman to sit on the board.
