Last year when Qualcomm opened its volunteer fair to the public, organizers were overwhelmed at the response. More than 80 nonprofit organizations and 1,000 people — Qualcomm employees and community members — participated. Those nonprofits will be back this year when Qualcomm hosts the 2002 event from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 31 in the parking lot at 5775 Morehouse Drive.

“Organizations benefited by getting the message out and getting volunteers,” says Keri Alessio, Qualcomm’s public relations coordinator. “Last year’s fair went so well, we will try to duplicate it.”

Each organization will have a 6-foot table on which to display information. And each person attending will receive a booklet with an entry on each of the represented organizations with details on volunteer opportunities and how to become involved.
