San Diego’s Well Armed Against A Falling Economy
Straight From The Experts
Steady Goes The Tourist’s Dollar

San Diegans have excellent opportunities to track the economy’s latest trends this autumn, starting with a double feature in Los Angeles this month.

On Sept. 25, UCLA’s Anderson Forecast will unveil its latest predictions at the Westin Bonaventure, with a keynote by Stephen Baum, chairman and chief executive of Sempra Energy, and presentations from Gov. Davis and his election opponent Bill Simon. The next day, economic experts from around the state, including Yahoo CEO Terry Semel and Venrock Associates venture capitalist Terry Garnett, will convene at the Milken Institute’s annual “State of the State” conference at the Century Plaza.

San Diego’s Biocom will issue its biotechnology industry outlook. The forecast season will conclude with the San Diego Chamber’s Economic Outlook conference on Nov. 7.
