On seemingly every Downtown corner, housing units are under construction, topping off, opening for move-ins or throwing themselves grand-opening parties. In September, the first towers of Parkloft and Renaissance are expected to become available. What’s more, the 10-unit Columbo Venture and OliverMcMillan’s 179-unit Cortez Park Lofts, two apartment projects recently arriving on the drawing boards, are now under review with completion slated for early 2004.

Less hustle and bustle of heavy construction and yet still plenty of amenities, options and proposed units are found in UTC and Mission Valley. As Mission Valley condo growth continues, San Diego officials will consider on Sept. 4 an application for a tentative and final map waiver to allow construction of Concordia Homes’ 202-unit Rio Vista West condominium complex on a vacant 4.8-acre site bounded by Rio San Diego Drive, Station Village Lane, Gill Village Way and Camino del Este. The hearing will be in Council Chambers, 202 C St., 12th floor, Downtown.
