Watkins & Co., an international executive recruiting firm he established in 1980. *** Kathleen Juniper has been appointed to the 35-member board of directors for the California Women Lawyers, an independent bar association conducting grassroots legislative programs on behalf of women. She is the founder of San Diego-based Juniper Law. *** The new buyer broker associate at HomeBuyer Agents is attorney Spencer Lugash. He will represent buyers and investors in the Downtown real estate market. *** Morrison & Foerster has selected David C. Doyle to chair the firm’s 300-lawyer intellectual property litigation practice. A senior litigation partner in the firm’s San Diego office, he joined the company in 2000. *** Landmark National Bank’s La Jolla office will be managed by Tony DiVita, regional v.p.; Gracie M. Thompson, financial services officer; and Nina Chou, operations supervisor. DiVita has been in banking 24 years, including being director of sales and service for Scripps Bank. *** Jason R. Patterson previously served as director of leasing for Simbol Commercial and has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. *** The newest director of the American Institute of Architects’ Young Architects Commission is Laurie C. Fisher. She is a project designer/director at Tucker Sadler Noble Castro Architects. *** Cheryl A. Fisher has been named the director for SDSU’s Office of Diversity and Equity. Previously, she served for three years as the associate director for The Center for Human Resources at SDSU. ***

Fenton Co.’s commercial property management group where she will manage Centerpointe Commerce Park in Miramar and Carmel Business Center in Carmel Mountain Ranch. *** Rick John was named top producing broker for 2002 at Collins Commercial Corp. for the fourth consecutive year. He has been with the company for 19 years. *** Kathy Hannon has joined the Del Mar office of the Willis Allen Co. real estate firm. She has been in real estate for 13 years. *** The newest Palomar Pomerado Health Foundation trustee is Poway Mayor Mickey Cafagna. A Poway resident for 26 years, he has been on the Poway City Council since 1992. He and his wife have owned Square One Inc. real estate company in La Jolla since 1974. *** Investment real estate veteran Ted Miller has been named a partner at ACI Commercial, an apartment property brokerage firm. Now one of six partners, he joined the company in 1997. *** Community National Bank hired Jordan M. Blanchard as new v.p. of the SBA 504 lending division, and Thomas M. Cheek as assistant v.p. and branch manager. Blanchard is a 15-year veteran of the banking industry, previously with Borrego Springs Bank, and Cheek formerly was with Western Financial Bank. *** Jack in the Box Inc.’s newest senior v.p., controller is Andrew A. Stevens. Stevens was CSK Auto’s v.p. and controller. *** Dominy + Associates Architects has hired Melanie Williams and Rick Hess. Williams has 26 years of business management and bookkeeping experience, and Hess has a wide range of design skills and experience. *** DoudHausnerVistar has hired Ivy Gordon to advise family owned businesses and entrepreneurial clients. Gordon co-founded and maintained Datafaction, an IT consulting practice, for more than 20 years. *** The newest member of Charter Funding’s Carlsbad office is Kirk Effinger. He has been recognized by the North San Diego County Association of Realtors as a member of its Golden Circle of Affiliates. *** Laurel Reed, a doctoral student in the Art History, Theory and Criticism program at UCSD, has been selected as the first recipient of the annual $5,000 Timken Museum of Art History Fellowship. She is a magna cum laude graduate from UCSD. *** Best Best & Krieger’s three new associates in the local office are Adria Allen, Michael Henshaw and Mrunal Mehta. Lopez is the president of Xpectrum Marketing Group. *** Daycom Systems Inc. has hired Bill Jamison as convergence engineer. Jamison previously worked for Juniper Networks and has 20 years of experience with computers and networks. *** Janet Walters has been promoted to v.p. of overseas operations for Scripps Ranch-based USA Federal Credit Union. She has been with the company for 17 years and has more than 26 years of banking and financial experience. *** The new executive director of the First Five Commission is Laura Spiegel. The commission is funded by Proposition 10 tobacco tax funds a comprehensive and integrated system of information and services to promote early childhood development and school readiness. *** Patrick Monahan and Laura Hoover have been hired by Roel Construction. Monahan, project engineer, has five years of experience in the industry. Hoover is administrative assistant for the consulting group. Kathleen J. Rounds has been promoted to director of finance. She joined the company in 1995. She was with Berkman Communications. *** Superior Court Judge Thomas R. Mitchell, known for restructuring probate court and streamlining the probate process, has retired after 11 years of service. He was a partner for 33 years in the firm that became Mitchell, Keeney & White. *** Katherine Szem was welcomed back to the San Diego Performing Arts League board. Szem is a managing director and leader of Wealth and Tax Advisory Services Inc. for Orange County and San Diego. *** Robbins Jorgensen Christopher has hired Hilton C. Pattinson is recognized for his crusade against frivolous lawsuits and excessive fees that drive up the cost of housing. *** Edward S. Netzhammer has been named the general manager for the Omni San Diego Hotel slated to open in the spring of 2004. Netzhammer has more than 20 years of experience in hotel management. *** Nereus Pharmaceuticals Inc. has hired Sanford Madigan and Jennifer Grodberg as v.p. of corporate development and director of infectious diseases, respectively.
