If a marketer could identify a group of households with 2001 income 60 percent higher than the national average, and 20 percent of them earned in excess of $100,000 annually, would the business community be interested? Sure would. That thinking is the premise behind “From Gay To Z,” a workshop on everything that mainstream businesses need to know about marketing to the gay and lesbian community. Presented by the Greater San Diego Business Association, the full-day business expo takes place from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m April 24 at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina. Panelists will include representatives from Cush Autogroup, Cal Bank & Trust, JW Window Fashions, Cohen Restaurants and various media organizations. Workshops will focus on data and demographics, strategies for reaching the gay market, and what marketing and advertising tools work best. For more information, call (619) 296-4543.
