Anita Diamant, author of the best selling book “The Red Tent,” will be among those participating in the ninth annual Jewish Book Fair at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, 4126 Executive Drive, La Jolla, starting Nov. 8. The opening night speaker will be actor and musician Theodore Bikel. Thousands of books will be for sale at this event, which is open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 9 to 12 and 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. weekdays. Nov. 9 is family day. Each evening at 8 p.m. an expert will give a talk, and throughout the week, speakers will be featured at breakfast, lunch and evening meals. Other featured speakers will be Daniel Levitas, an expert on racism and terrorism; and Dr. Ruth Gruber, 92-year-old author, photojournalist and humanitarian.
