Bill Rodewald

William “Bill” Rodewald, regional v.p. with Harsch Investment Properties, was elected California regional director of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. He has been active for six years, most recently serving as president of the San Diego chapter. Before joining Harsch, Rodewald was with Colliers International.

Christopher Lee, president/CEO of Cel and Associates Inc., was named to the board of the SDSU College of Business. A 1970 graduate of SDSU, Lee has advised or consulted with more than 750 real estate firms.

Three Community National Bank managers were promoted to v.p. positions. They are Bobbi V. Ballwey, Thomas M. Cheek and Jean Westerhold. Ballwey, a 22-year banking veteran who joined the Community National in 2004, opened its 10th branch in Muirretia this year. Cheek, in banking 12 years, has been at this job since 2003, and Westerhold, an employee since 2001, has 33 years of banking experience.

Named to serve as executive vice president of the United Jewish Federation of San Diego is Michael S. Rassler. He has held the same position in Greater Long Beach and West Orange County for the past eight years and has more than 20 years of experience working with the UJF.

Sales agents James Bonggat and Cassie Merrifield were hired to staff the newly opened Downtown sales office of Centex Homes’ Element housing project in East Village. Bonggat has nine years of real estate experience, and this is Merrifield’s fourth project with Centex.

Ashbrook Communities has named 30-year real estate executive Jim Coles as director of acquisitions. He will lead the company’s efforts to move into other parts of California and Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico. Coles formerly served presidential appointments as director of both Fannie Mae and later National Housing Partnerships Inc.

Kathy Baker was named manager for the city’s redevelopment area in downtown Oceanside. She leaves a position as redevelopment and housing manager for the city of Vista.

TEC International named Jerry Schneider as CFO. He was senior v.p. of strategic and financial planning for a dialysis company and before that was CFO for the same company.

Superior Court Judge J. Richard Haden will retire in January after 21 years as a judge. He was appointed to the San Diego Municipal Court in 1983 and to Superior Court two years later.

Greenstein has his own boutique practice called Techmark, which focuses mainly on patent, trademark and copyright litigation. Procopio hired Evelyn Heidelberg for its environmental law group. She formerly was with Lathan & Watkins in Los Angeles.

Registered certified environmental planner Betty Dehoney joined HDR as the environmental sciences business class area manager based in San Diego. Her 25 years of experience conducting environmental studies include serving as director of environmental services of P&D Environment.

VIIA Insurance Services Inc. purchased Benefits Consulting Group and hired its founder David Duenas as a principal in its newly relocated Del Mar Heights office. Also hired in that office were Mike Barone, Susan Leal, Cecelia Salerno, Valerie Lubic and Elizabeth Frey. All have previous insurance experience.

Noon was named senior v.p., pharmaceuticals. Noon has more than 24 years of experience in global pharmaceuticals, most recently as president of IMS Healthy. Fernand Kaufmann was appointed to Diversa’s board. Kaufmann was part of Dow Chemical Co.’s senior management until his retirement in 2001.

United Way of San Diego hired Hannah Cohen as a consultant to oversee the development of a countywide plan to end chronic homelessness. She has worked on homeless issues for the past 20 years.
