Producers of the Women in Business Symposium have invited Joan Burns, owner of Sampson Associates, to become a co-producer, joining Sheila McDonnell and co-producer Karen Winston in developing the sixth annual event May 19, 2005, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Burns specializes in event planning and her attention to detail will improve the symposium in the future, says McDonnell. She has worked with Fortune 500 CEOs and families on their special occasions and has been acquainted with McDonnell, Winston and the symposium since its inception in 1999.

The Women in Business Symposium is intended to provide a fun and stimulating day for businesswomen to refresh their business passions and make new contacts. The day includes motivational, inspirational and educational speakers; roundtable discussions with women who are experts in their fields; a variety of exhibitors and a formal luncheon.
