In response to patients coming to his office with baggies filled with nutritional supplements for their cardiovascular systems, Dr. Dennis Goodman has come up with his own formula for cardiac patients.
“They come in with these bags of vitamins and herbs and say, ‘What should I take?’” Goodman says. “They bought all these things because they went into one of the stores and some guy said ‘take this and take this.’ And they take it. So there’s tremendous confusion.”
Goodman began researching supplements because many can produce positive results. He decided to put something of his own together after seeing the varying quality on the shelves.
Supplements are not FDA regulated and Goodman says buyers never know what they are buying and whether it has the strength they need. He also cautions that “affordable” typically means diluted.
