Six executives are set to receive Director of the Year awards from the Corporate Directors Forum. The honors recognize board members for their high levels of ethical conduct, integrity and standards in corporate governance.
“This year’s honorees are extraordinary examples of good corporate governance at work,” says Cass Cassidy, chair of Corporate Directors Forum. “These honorees are making a difference in the boardroom, the companies they represent and the community at large.”
Among those recognized are:
- Daniel Derbes, chair of WD-40 Co., honored for Lifetime Achievement of Corporate Governance.
- Donald Grimm, Invitrogen board member, named Director of the Year for Enhancement of Economic Value.
- Edwin Guiles, SDG&E chair, recognized as Director of the Year for Corporate Citizenship.
- Duane Nelles, Qualcomm director, recognized as Director of the Year for Corporate Governance.
- Ralph Whitworth, chair of Apria Healthcare Group Inc., recognized as Director of the Year for Companies in Transition.
- Michelle Candland, chair of the Monarch School project board, recognized as Director of the Year for Corporate Governance - Not-for-Profit.
