Joe Moeller was named president of the San Diego International Sports Council. He has been at the SDSU athletic department since 2000, serving as senior associate athletic director for external relations.

Neil Dymott shareholder David G. Brown was named Defense Lawyer of the Year for 2003 by the San Diego Defense Lawyers Association. The organization also recognized John Skylstead Rhoades, senior district judge for the U.S. Southern District court for the District of California. San Diego National Bank promoted Mary Beth Wilder to assistant v.p. in the credit administration department, and Cyrus Vafi to commercial loan officer. The bank hired Joseph (Chris) Kennedy in the credit administration department. Wilder has been with the bank for five years, Vafi since 2003. Kennedy completed 20 years in the U.S. Navy.

San Diegans Joseph Benoit and George A. Ramirez were promoted to market presidents at Union Bank of California. Benoit will be responsible for branches and small business operations in San Diego County and the Inland Empire. Ramirez will oversee Orange, Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Benoit has been with the bank since 1992, Ramirez since 1986.
