Second Annual Gay Business Expo Approaches

The Greater San Diego Business Association is accepting registrations from prospective exhibitors and sponsors for the second annual “Gay to Z” business exposition. Called “The Growing Gay Market,” the expo will include nearly 100 display booths and feature guest speaker Deepak Chopra. It runs from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 29 in the Atlas Ballroom at the Town & Country Resort and Convention Center in Mission Valley. The program also features six workshops, a luncheon and late-afternoon mixer.

The expo is designed to teach marketers and business owners how to effectively do business with the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender market, which some reports say spends $452 billion annually.

“Last year’s sold-out expo successfully brought together GSDBA member businesses and San Diego businesses new to the GLBT community,” says Joyce Marieb, executive director for the GSDBA. “Expo 2004 will be even bigger, and it will give business owners more tools for discovering who we are, what we buy and how to get our attention.”

The deadline for exhibitor registration is March 19. Those interested can register online at www.gsdba.org or call (619) 296-4543.
