SAM Like It Hot,” a spoof of the Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis movie filmed largely in San Diego, is the theme for the 30th anniversary SAM Awards presented by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Building Industry Association of San Diego County.
Overseeing the “Hollywood glam” effort will be co-chairs Barbara Rossoll of NewHomesDirectory.com and Gail Nakamura of Western Pacific Housing.
The awards, honoring notable achievements in design, merchandising, sales and marketing, will be presented in October. The theme logo and all associated graphic materials are being designed by Cassle Communications. Agency principal Fred Cassle will be joined in the effort by Scott Curry, director of client services, and designer Jason Nunez.
Also serving on the SAM Awards committee are Liz Barela of The Corky McMillin Cos., sponsorship; DeeDee Dannan of John Laing Homes, sales professional judging; Jennie Nielsen and Angie Guerrero of the BIA, facility/food/seating; Carlene Wilkie of Brookfield Homes and Sue Dowd of Home Buyer’s Guide, criteria; Julia Simms of Julia Simms Public Relations, entry handling and script; Cathy Purscelley of The San Diego Union-Tribune, judging; and Tina Courtney of Courtney Ford Design, industry professional judging.
