Once again looking to donate $1 million in airtime grants, Time Warner Cable has announced the first-round of recipients. The local nonprofit groups and arts organizations getting time through the Operation Outreach program are all United Way agencies or members of the San Diego Performing Arts League.
Receiving $50,000 airtime grants are the United Way of San Diego County, San Diego Symphony, Alzheimer’s Association of San Diego, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, San Diego Youth and Community Services, the YWCA of San Diego County, the North Coast Repertory Theatre, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego, and the San Diego Performing Arts League.
Grants for $25,000 in airtime went to the Alpha Project for the Homeless, SAY San Diego, Being Alive San Diego, San Diego Hospice, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, the Clairemont Friendship Center, the Elizabeth Hospice, San Diego Mediation Center and Family Health Centers of San Diego.
“Time Warner Cable focuses its corporate giving on programs that support or promote youth, education, the arts, and health and human services,” says Dan Ballister, vice president of public affairs at Time Warner Cable San Diego. “The airtime we’re providing is a valuable resource that many organizations couldn’t otherwise afford.”
