Work hard, play hard. Heather Rosing, a partner in the San Diego law office of Klinedinst PC, takes that axiom to heart. A year ago, she and her fiance Scott Carr invited their families and several of their closest friends a group of about 60 to witness their wedding in Bellagio, Italy.
“We thought it would be really neat,” says Rosing, 33. “It was wonderful and romantic.” The couple honeymooned in Egypt, which included a cruise along the Nile.
Here at home, Rosing is a workaholic, a prolific writer and somewhat of an expert on professional liability and ethics as they pertain to attorneys, accountants and psychologists. She has written and published a virtual mini-library of articles on those subjects and spoken extensively on the subjects by invitation of various organizations. Most of that has been without pay. Rosing views it simply as a service to the community.
Wendy Patrick, a deputy in the District Attorney’s office who serves with Rosing on the board of the San Diego County Bar Association and on its legal ethics committee, says, “She’s a hard worker and a great achiever and absolutely wonderful to work with.”
Rosing has been with Klinedinst for eight years. She earned her law degree from Northwestern University School of Law, worked as a law clerk in the summer of 1995 for the United States Attorney for the Southern District of California. With Klinedinst, she is able to counsel clients on the often convoluted sections of liability and ethics laws. “In California, you have three or four different sets of ethics rules to follow,” she says. “My job is to interpret and advise my professional clients on these.”
