Peter Dennehy

The quickly expanding Sullivan Group Real Estate Advisors, an independent market research division of The Ryness Co., has added as a senior v.p. top level analyst Peter Dennehy. He joins the new division from The Meyers Group/Hanley Wood and Robert Charles Lesser & Co. Also new at Sullivan are Kenneth Perlman, v.p.; Adam McAbee, v.p.; Bryan Glasshagel, director of economic research; Jeff Edinger as senior analyst; Jonathon Schwartz as analyst and Lisa Thiem as project assistant and executive assistant to Tim Sullivan, company president.

Robert Perryman

Carlsbad-based Ashbrook Communities has named Robert Perryman as division president for its Coachella Valley and Inland Empire regions. Perryman, a 25-year veteran of the inland and desert new-home markets, will be responsible for managing and expanding Ashbrook’s homebuilding activities throughout those areas, with a goal of securing holdings on property for 1,000 homes and boosting escrow closings from 150 in 2005 to more than 600 in 2006.

International Technoprint Inc. named Shiro Fujimoto as its new president. Previously Fujimoto was president of Mutoh America where he worked for 22 years.

Cybele Thompson, regional v.p. of PM Realty Group, was elected to continue as president of the California Building Owners and Managers Association for 2005. She was president of BOMA San Diego from 2000-2002.

Information technology executive Colin Black joined the staff of the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau as executive director of information technology. He most recently was v.p. of IT and deputy CIO for the MEMEC Corp. in San Diego. His experience includes IT executive positions in several European companies.

April Boling is 2005 board chair of the San Diego Convention Center Corp. A CPA and owner of an accounting practice, she is volunteer president of the San Diego County Taxpayers Association and recently chaired the mayor’s Blue Ribbon Committee on City Finance. Others on the board are Kevin Tilden, vice chair; Eric Rivera, assistant v.p. for student affairs administration at SDSU, Treasurer; Robert Gleason, CFO and general counsel for Evans Hotels. He replaces Maria Senior, who was termed out.

Cooley Godward added Koji Fukumura to its San Diego law office staff. He is a litigation attorney whose practice focuses on securities and complex business. He is a former co-chair of the Securities Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation, is a current co-chair of that committee’s SEC Enforcement Subcommittee He is a co-chair of the 2006 ABA annual meeting.

Tachyon Networks named Peter Carides CEO. He is former v.p. and head of the Satellite & Wireless division at Equant, a global IP services network provider.

Dennis Burks, principal of Burks & Associates, was appointed board chairman for the Alliance in Support of Airport Progress in the 21st Century, an advocacy group seeks to develop a world-class, environmentally sound international airport in San Diego County. Burks replaces Ray Robbins as chairman. John Chalker, a founding member, remains on the board as president. Burks most recently was executive v.p. and g.m. of SeaWorld.

The San Diego International Sports Council installed Ted Roth as chairman, the 35th chair in the Council’s 46 years of operation. Roth, managing director for corporate finance of Roth Capital Partners LLC, will take over for Dan Novak, v.p. and g.m. of Channel 4 San Diego.

Scripps Health Foundation appointed Mary Braunwarth as director of development for Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas just as a campaign to raise funds for expansion and modernization begins. Prior to joining Scripps, she created and led the City of San Diego’s corporate.

Robert Mellott joined Tucker Sadler as principal, CFO and COO. He has more than 30 years of architecture and business experience, most recently with BPA Architecture Planning Interiors in San Diego. Charles W. Brinton also joined the company as a project architect. His 11 years of experience include seven years in the architectural industry, most recently as an associate for ATA Architects in New York City.

Diane Rogers was named sales manager for ICON, the development at the Carnation Building site at 11th Avenue and J Street. Rogers has more than 16 years of residential real estate sales experience, most recently as sales manager for Douglas Wilson Cos. where she supervised sales teams for neighboring East Village developments Parkloft and The Mark.

John P. Messick was promoted to project director in Sundt Construction’s Southern California office. He joined Sundt in 1991, and his experience ranges from residential high-rise, to biomedical and medical facilities and parking structures.

Littler Mendelson elected Jerrilyn T. Malana to shareholder. She represents national Fortune 500 clients and local San Diego businesses in all types of employment-related litigation. She also counsels and trains employers in how to avoid employment-related claims.

Two of 22 lawyers elected to the Morrison & Foerster partnership’s San Diego office are Peng Chen and Jose L. Patiño. Chen is a member of the Patent Group. He joined the firm in 2000. Patiño is a member of the Litigation Department and has been with the firm since 2001.

Red Door Interactive named three new employees: Kevin Hawke and Cathy Arnott, senior account executives, and Merritt Carver, traffic manager. Hawke most recently was with PowerBar and Sony Pictures. Arnott has received many Australian advertising awards, and Carver was with Envision Group.

Robert Francavilla, a partner at Casey, Gerry, Reed & Schenk, was appointed president of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, an organization of trial lawyers whose focus is to preserve and protect the legal rights of consumers. Francavilla has been honored three times with that organization’s “Outstanding Trial Lawyer” award. Todd D. Carpenter was hired as an associate in the Casey, Gerry, Reed & Schenk firm. Previously he was a law clerk in two other San Diego law firms.

Stefan LaCasse, a past executive with three home building firms in San Diego County since 1994, has formed Quinn Communities, a smaller infill project home building company based in Encinitas. Previously he was v.p. at Shoreline Communities, v.p., project manager at DR Horton and forward planning manager and purchasing manager at Ryland Homes.

Partner Stephen Beuerle was elected to the management committee of Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP. He succeeds Craig Sapin, who held the role for 15 years and will now become the firm’s financial partner. Beuerle’s practice focuses on all areas of intellectual property law. The firm promoted business & technology attorney William C. Belanger, and intellectual property attorneys Pattric J. Rawlins and Barry F. Soalt to partners. Belanger represents international and national clients in high-tech industries. Rawlins and Soalt practice across a broad array of intellectual property matters. Soalt was a partner in the Brown, Martin, Haller & McClain firm. New to the firm’s litigation team is Audette Paul Morales, formerly an associate with the law firm of Keesal, Young & Logan in Long Beach and Mary Jo Wiggins, a tenured professor at the University of San Diego School of Law.

Kari Middleton accepted a promotion with Banc of America Investment Services as an assistant vice president of its La Jolla Village office. She now has financial planning offices in Del Mar and the UTC area.

Dennis Walters joined Gafcon as director of operations. A veteran construction consultant, Walters has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, most recently with Douglas E. Barnhart Inc. Before that, for 15 years, Walters was employed by Nielsen Dillingham Builders Inc., also in San Diego.

Attorney Jerome A. Grossman returned to Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP after a 12-year absence. He worked with Luce Forward from 1989 through 1992 as special counsel and rejoins the firm as a partner assigned to the business/corporate group. Most recently, he was in the Los Angeles office of Dewey Ballantine LLP.

Hernandez has eight years of experience in the field. With more than two decades of experience in pharmaceutical advertising, Conley previously worked for Fusion Communications Consulting, in Sausalito.

Reegan Ray joined Gillespie Design Group as a landscape designer. Her experience includes several years as a surveyor’s assistant for a local surveying firm. Ray has been designing residential custom homes for the past four years.

The law firm of Wilson Petty Kosmo & Turner LLP added two associates, Dennis Raglin and Tracy Warren. Raglin, a specialist in product liability law, was previously with Drinker Biddle & Reath in San Francisco. Warren, an expert in labor and employment law, was previously with Luce Forward in San Diego.

Robert Shepp, 35-year veteran in construction, joined Barratt American’s Urban Development Division as construction manager. Formerly he was with PCL Construction.

Leslie E. Devaney, former San Diego executive assistant city attorney, will join Stutz Artiano Shinoff & Holtz as a shareholder. She will head the firm’s Government Relations/Municipal Law group. She began her career with the San Diego City Attorney’s in 1985 and after seven years, become a senior litigator for New York-based American International Group offices in San Diego. She rejoined the city attorney’s office in 1996 as executive assistant city attorney and resigned following her November 2004 loss to Mike Aguirre in the race for city attorney.

Stacy Meronoff joined CB Richard Ellis as a sales assistant focusing on all aspects of office leasing and commercial sales exclusively in Downtown San Diego. Meronoff previously worked with SENTRE Partners as a partner/office assistant.

Alden Marketing Communications added to its staff 25-year veteran broadcaster and public relations consultant Tony Vignieri. Since 1992 Vignieri has operated his own company, Vignieri Communications Inc., based in Carlsbad.

Kelly Murphy joined Woodenship Advertising & Public Affairs as an account executive. She coordinated the re-election campaign for San Diego Mayor Dick Murphy. Before that, she worked as a deputy clerk for the San Diego Municipal Court.

Sammy Pham, a design engineer, joined the engineering department at Pountney Psomas Consulting Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors. He has more than 15 years of public agency and private land development consulting experience in residential subdivisions, commercial developments and industrial facilities.
