San Elijo Hills, the ocean-view community that has earned the most prestigious awards in the homebuilding/development industry, is introducing a wide variety of new homes this year homes with a broad spectrum of sizes, prices and lifestyle options. Prices for single-family homes in the community range from the $500,000s to more than a million.
To showcase the new neighborhoods and to show off the community’s vibrant lifestyle and beautiful amenities, San Elijo Hills is hosting “Spring into San Elijo” on Saturday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The spring festival will have activities for the whole family, including two 20-foot bungee trampolines, a 30-foot slide, toddler amusements and picnic fare, such as sandwiches, roasted corn, potato salad and treats. Children will also have the opportunity to color eggs, have their photos taken with the Easter Bunny, and take home a plant that they’ve planted themselves.
The event, sponsored by the San Elijo Hills Development Company, will also feature double-decker bus tours of the community and individual models.
“This celebration is designed to give prospective home buyers the opportunity to visit San Elijo Hills and experience first-hand the sense of community that has developed here,” said Hale Richardson, director of marketing and communications for San Elijo Hills.
“We’re also excited to offer such an expansive collection of new homes,” she added. “In addition to model homes at Meridian homes and Mariner’s Point, representatives for six new neighborhoods will be here to provide information and answer questions. These new neighborhoods feature single family homes and condos that range from 1,200 square feet to more than 6,000 square feet. Models are slated to open this summer.”
California Cove will introduce estate homes called The Masterpiece Collection and The Symphony Collection, both within the gated neighborhood of Montage. These estate homes atop one of the highest peaks in San Elijo Hills will feature more than 6,000 square feet. Prices have not been established.
Richmond American Homes is introducing its third and fourth neighborhoods in San Elijo Hills in one of the premier ocean-view areas of the community.
Atherton features three two-story floorplans, ranging from 3,386 to 3,741 square feet, with four to six bedrooms. Prices start in the low $800,000s. Luminara features three floorplans, ranging from 2,478 to 2,708 square feet, with three to four bedrooms. Luminara homes start in the low $700,000s.
D.R. Horton is also introducing two new neighborhoods this spring. Sonoma, a neighborhood of 131 detached homes ranging from 1,354 to 2,002 square feet, features two- and three-bedroom residences priced from the high $500,000s.
D.R. Horton recently released its first phase at Palisades, an exclusive enclave of 42 homes, ranging up to 4,237 square feet, located on private cul-de-sacs on one of the highest points in San Elijo Hills. Prices start in the high $800,000s.
Models are open at Pulte Homes’ two single-family neighborhoods. Meridian homes, priced from the $800,000s, feature three plans ranging from 3,290 to 3,607 square feet. Mariners Landing features three floor plans priced from the $700,000s and ranging from 2,617 to 2,999 square feet.

John Laing Homes’ Woodley’s Glen, which is nearing close out, features two-story homes ranging from 2,332 to 2,800 square feet. These homes are priced from the low $700,000s.
With all the amenities of a proverbial small town, beautiful homes in many price ranges, and breath-taking ocean-views, it’s no wonder that San Elijo Hills is one of the most popular communities in San Diego County.
The community is located on hilly terrain, crisscrossed by 18 miles of trails woven through 1,100 acres of open space with panoramic ocean and back-country views.
The heart of the community is a towncenter that features the 19-acre San Elijo Hills Park, a beautiful town square, and a 30-acre education campus. To reach San Elijo Hills from the south, take I-5 to Leucadia Boulevard exit and drive east. (Leucadia Boulevard ultimately turns into Rancho Santa Fe Road.) Turn right onto San Elijo Road and continue two miles to the center of town.
