Cheryl Mason, who studied San Diego’s labor market for the last 13 years of her 21-year state career, has left the California Employment Development Department for a position with Sandag. Mason’s new title is senior research analyst and her responsibilities include administering the marketing and providing of economic data to Sandag’s non-government clients. That job was formerly the responsibility of Marney Cox, who remains Sandag’s chief economist but is spending a great amount of his time studying creative ways to finance the region’s transportation infrastructure needs.
