Jennifer Bonasia

Lennar has named Jennifer Bonasia president of its San Diego home building division making her one of the highest-ranking women in San Diego home building. A 20-year industry veteran, Bonasia has been with Lennar since 1993. “The privilege of leading this division in such a unique time in the market is one that I look forward to,” she says.

SKY MobileMedia Inc., appointed Naser Partovi as president and CEO. Partovi has worked with numerous telecommunications companies. Most recently he was managing director at Enterprise Partners Venture Capital.

Higgs, Fletcher & Mack hired three new associates: Kathryn Martin, Jennifer Morris and Stephen Pelletier. Martin, a member of the health care practice group, was a law clerk at Neil, Dymott, Frank, Harrison & McFall. Morris, a member of the employment and business litigation practice groups, was a senior associate with Jones, Bell, Abbott, Fleming & Fitzgerald prior to joining Higgs. Pelletier, previously with Horton & Ryan, joins the civil litigation practice group.

Charlene Cooley, who has nearly 10 years of experience in marketing advertising, joined Barratt American as marketing manager for the San Diego and Inland Empire divisions. She previously worked as an account executive for Hayes Martin Associates Inc., which specializes in marketing new homes. Walter Fritz, a veteran of 17 years in residential construction in Canada and the U.S., joined Barratt American’s urban division as v.p. of construction. He has experience in mid- and high-rise multifamily projects in Canada, Yugoslavia and in San Diego with Intracorp Developments and Pointe of View Condominiums.

Jacob W. Davis and Ryan Jorgensen joined the audit department of the San Diego-based CPA firm, Lavine, Lofgren, Morris & Engelberg. Davis previously worked for a CPA firm in San Ramon, Calif.

Community Bancorp Inc., parent company of Community National Bank, named Fred Kreutzkamp as community v.p and homeowners association loan officer. A 37-year banking veteran with 18 years in the HOA field in Southern California, Kreutzkamp will be responsible for developing and managing the HOA lending portfolio for the bank. Prior to joining Community, Kreutzkamp provided HOA related services for First Centennial Bank, First Bank & Trust and Bank of Commerce.

William Lyon Homes hired Donna Ruane as community sales manager at the company’s Promenade at Spectrum in the Kearny Mesa area. Ruane spent the last 14 years selling homes for California Pacific Homes and before that worked for Western National, a major apartment home developer.

Testing Engineers – U.S. Laboratories Inc. hired Laith Namiq as geotechnical engineer and Lindsey Merek as marketing manager. Namiq, the author of a book, “Geotechnical Engineering, A Unified Approach,” relocated to San Diego from Indiana, where she handled motorsports marketing programs for Subway restaurants and ditech.com.

Roel Construction Co. promoted Marcia Reardon to accounting supervisor. She has been a member of the Roel team for more than nine years and has worked in many areas of the accounting group.

San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride appointed Ron W. Ortega deHarte Jr. executive director. An event marketing agent, deHarte most recently served two years as executive director of Bravo San Diego, where he led the successful effort to obtain nonprofit status. He sits on the Bravo board. He served as executive v.p. and COO for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear law firm has three new partners in the San Diego office: James Herkenhoff, Joseph Mallon and Marc Morley. Herkenhoff’s practice focuses on intellectual property, litigation and licensing; Mallon represents clients in a wide range of technologies Morley represents technology companies with a focus on intellectual property transactional work.

SGX Pharmaceuticals Inc. appointed W. Todd Myers as CFO, and Siegfried Reich, as v.p., drug discovery. Myers has more than 16 years of financial experience. He most recently was a financial consultant, from 2000 to 2004, he was CFO of FeRx Inc., an oncology development company. Prior to joining SGX, Siegfried was v.p., head of Viral and Ophthalmic Diseases Therapeutic Zone in Discovery at Pfizer Inc.

Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch added seven attorneys to its firm: Dana Bessenecker, B. Allison Borkenheim, Lillian Brown, David Greenlees, Malgorzata (Gosia) Kulczycka, Priya Reddy, and Isabel Weeks-Lambert. Weeks-Lambert, Greenlees and Kulczycka joined the intellectual property team. Borkenheim joined the business and technology team. Her practice focuses on counseling and litigation in labor and employment law. Simon Mais, recipient of the state of Tennessee’s 2004 Hotel General Manager of the Year award, was named g.m. for the 351-room Hilton San Diego Mission Valley Hotel. Mark Tennison, with more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry, was named director of sales and marketing. Mais, was a hotel g.m for six years with Sheraton and Marriott hotels. Previously Tennison was director of sales and marketing for the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley. HEI Hospitality, a Norwalk, Conn.-based hotel ownership and operating company, recently purchased the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley Hotel.

Samantha Bowman was named executive director of Coronado SAFE (Substance Abuse Free Environments), the San Diego County seat for Forces United, an armed services substance abuse prevention organization. Bowman, a Coronado native, has been with Nancy Chase (Chase Group Political Consultants) for the past few years.

Zane P. Tominna, an associate with Higgs, Fletcher & Mack, formed the Chaldean American Bar Association at the urging of Wadie Deddeh, who served in the California Assembly from 1966-1982, and as a California senator from 1982-1993.

Steve McCormick was appointed director of education and outreach at the La Jolla Playhouse. He was education director/associate artistic director at Milwaukee’s First Stage Children’s Theatre and has more than 10 years of arts education experience. He replaces Jeanette Horn who left the Playhouse in November.

Four associates were promoted at Fehlman LaBarre Architects Inc. They are Paige George, Cindy Blair, Michael Stonehouse and Tom Barich. George has been with the firm three years; Blair joined the company a year ago. Stonehouse has been with Fehlman LaBarre for seven years, and Barich, the firm’s controller, for more than two years. Formerly Barich managed his own accounting and human resources consulting firm.

First National Bank hired Terry Siaca as v.p./commercial lender in the Escondido office. She has many years of commercial and real estate experience, most recently with First Pacific Bank of California. Also hired was Lani F. Lopez as loan assistant in the Escondido Office. She was with Bank of the West and has relocated from the Bay Area. The bank promoted Anne Page as loan assistant in the El Camino Real Branch in Carlsbad. She joined First National’s note department in 2001.

Pat & Oscar’s Restaurants promoted Amy McGuinness to director of purchasing and culinary development. Formerly McGuinness was purchasing manager. Prior to joining Pat & Oscar’s, she was the manager of culinary services at Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp.

Motivational Systems Inc. promoted Pete Relph to v.p., director of operations. Relph joined MSI in 2005. He has more than 20 years of experience in operations management, most notably as director of operations at AT&T.

Oster and Associates Inc. hired account manager Rob Varga to manage new accounts, including Offshore Growth, a start-up enterprise offering high level outsourcing for U.S. companies. Varga has experience managing national advertising accounts.

Denise A. Fasano joined Southwest Strategies as director of administrative services. She also is the agency’s human resources and employee benefits administrator. Fasano has more than 20 years of experience in office management. Bobbi Herdes was promoted to the newly created position of director of finance at Southwest Strategies, a San Diego public affairs company. Herdes has been with the firm for five years as a senior account executive. When she joined the company, she had more than 20 years of experience in marketing and project management.
