Anne Legg, v.p. of marketing for Cabrillo Credit Union, was named vice chair of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing and Business Development Council. She will serve as vice chair for two years. She was elected in 2004 to serve a three-year term on the eight-person committee.

Tracy Warren joined the Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek law firm as an associate. Warren’s practice emphasizes business litigation, employment counsel and litigation, sports representation, negotiation and litigation, as well as immigration. Prior to joining the firm, she was an associate attorney in California and Maryland. Prior to her career in law, Warren served as a sports broadcaster.

Alex Montoya, former director of communications for the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and former sports columnist for the San Diego Metropolitan Uptown Examiner, was named director of Latino affairs for the San Diego Padres. Montoya spent seven years with the Hispanic Chamber and served as a guest services representative for Padres home games, first at Qualcomm Stadium and now at Petco Park. He also has experience in public relations with the nonprofit Access Center Inc. and the Pacific Gateway Group and Nuffer, Smith, Tucker Communications.

Kim Murphy

ROEL Construction hired Kim Murphy as accounts payable specialist. She has more than 13 years of administrative experience and formerly worked for Jerry’s Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. as operations manager. ROEL also hired Taylor Klasinski as assistant project engineer. She has two years of experience in the construction industry. Taylor formerly worked for ISEC Inc. as assistant project engineer.

Steven Casad was appointed g.m. of Plaza del Pasado in Old Town State Park. A seasoned tourism veteran, Casad was g.m. for retail and food services at several sports and entertainment venues including Petco Park, San Diego’s Downtown baseball stadium, and the 20,000-seat American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Equastone, a real estate investment firm, hired Chris Stai as v.p., acquisitions, and John Locke, previously associate director of acquisitions, was promoted to v.p., acquisitions. Stai spent six years with The Shidler Group and Westcore Properties. Locke has been with Equastone since 2002

Sohil Karimy was promoted to director of operations and education of the AGC Apprenticeship and Training Trust. The trust operates three training centers, one in San Diego and the others in Riverside and Orange County. Karimy oversees all three. He has been San Diego coordinator for three years.

Higgs, Fletcher & Mack hired associate Andrea M. Wendt. She joins the business litigation practice group and will handle general business litigation cases with an emphasis on tort and employment law. Wendt is a 2004 graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and before joining Higgs she practiced in Portland, Ore., at the law firm of Ater Wynne.

Michael Armstrong joined GVA IPC as a senior associate working office sales and leasing in Mission Valley. He has more than 13 years of lending and commercial real estate and was a loan consultant for Fidelity Mortgage Corp. in San Diego.

Document Sciences Corp. added Hakan Akbas as chief marketing officer. He has more than 10 years of experience within the high tech industry. Akbas was with Xerox Corp. He will work out of the company’s Carlsbad headquarters.

Advanced Applied Adhesives appointed Stephen W. Munson as COO. He most recently served as director of manufacturing and operations at Henkel/Loctite. He has been in that business since 1978.

Landscape architect Marian Marum joined Howard Associates Inc. as v.p. Marum has more than 25 years of experience in urban design and landscape architecture and specializes in civic and community areas. The firm appointed John H. McGee Jr. senior associate with 10 years of experience.

Gregg Berger joined Hanley Wood Market Intelligence to work with the real estate investment sector. Berger was v.p. of national accounts of Reis Inc., provider of apartment, office and retail market information to the institutional investment community. Michael Hartnett also joined the company. He is an authority on the supply chain in home construction and served as director of business development for Georgia Pacific Corp.

Sherida Jeffrey was named senior associate of Spurlock Poirer Landscape Architects. She was the firm’s project manager for the Park at the Park adjacent to Petco Park. She has been with the company since 2000.

New Way Landscape & Tree Services hired three new employees: Jim Park, account manager for central/Downtown San Diego, who is certified in several areas and has more than 20 years of experience; Jessica Flynn, field superintendent for central/Downtown San Diego with more than five years of experience in interior and exterior landscape maintenance; and Laura Jones, also an account manager for La Jolla/Sorrento Valley.

Her professional practice has focused on patent, trademark, and copyright law. Dunagan was hired as director of finance and administration for construction of the South Bay Expressway, a 10-mile toll road extending from SR 54 in Spring Valley to SR 905 near the Otay Mesa International Border crossing. Dunagan has more than 22 years of senior financial management experience, most recently as v.p. of finance for Poway-based SeaSpace Corp.

The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center named three new members to its board: Reo Carr, associate publisher of the San Diego Business Journal, Elisabeth Eisner, a partner in the law firm of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary, and Jordanna Schutz, president of jojoSport and a director of Provide Commerce Inc. They will serve terms of three year terms.
