When Chris Snook, 31, opened his Define Lifestyle Enhancement Club on Park Boulevard last month, he saw the culmination of a longtime dream and the continuation of an exciting career. Define is what Snook calls “an urban country club that delivers personalized fitness and business coaching and social networking for up-ward-moving San Diegans.”
Snook’s concept began to take form almost 10 years ago while he was employed at SDSU and enrolled in its exercise physiology master’s program. He also holds a master’s degree in entrepreneurship. When he completed his degree, Snook experimented with different ventures and entrepreneurial quests, most having to do with personal training and coaching. They all came together with the incorporation in 2006 of Define.
Those who join Define pay an entrance fee and monthly dues and sign up for additional services or upgrades. Gravity training and seminars are offered on site. Business coaching can be individual or corporate.
Snook lives Downtown with his wife, Brianne, and two dogs he likens to Mutt and Jeff: a rottweiler named Chyna and a miniature pinscher, Jazz. The couple co-wrote a book titled “Personal Trainer’s Burnout: How to Transform Frustration to Fortune.” Snook has now completed a second book, “Wealth Matters…Abundance is Your Birthright.”
