A Crowning Achievement
For Jason Wood? Maybe

< Gregg Witt | Leonid Zilberman >

For the past three years, Jason Wood, 36, has been consumed with one of the biggest projects in his real estate career — finding companies to lease space in DiamondView Tower, Cisterra Partners’ 15-story office building on the steps of Petco Park. Although companies were slow to come on board, the leasing pace eventually picked up speed to the point where the building is now essentially filled. “People needed to see it, feel it, touch it to believe it and realize how special this building is,” says Wood. “There never can be anything like it.”

Wood, vice president of finance and leasing for Cisterra, has an equity interest in the building, as do partners Steve Black and Todd Anson. While he won’t say DiamondView Tower is a crowning achievement for him, it certainly would qualify as such. Wood oversaw all aspects of the building including negotiating the land acquisition with the Padres and cementing the joint venture relationship Cisterra has with Prudential Real Estate on the building.

What’s next for him? “To go out and find the next gem,” he says.

Wood, an accomplished rugby player with the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club, recently celebrated his 14th wedding anniversary with his wife, Cathy, a clinical research manager for Sharp Healthcare. They have two daughters, Carly, 9, and Claire, 2.
