Dr. Arturo Chayet has performed more than 30,000 eye surgeries in 22 years.

In the practice of vision correction procedures such as laser refractive surgery and intraocular lens (cataract) surgery, Tijuana’s Dr. Arturo Chayet is world renowned.

Chayet has performed more than 30,000 eye surgeries in 22 years while also acting as a researcher and trainer of future refractive surgeons. He has authored more than 40 articles in journals and is regularly invited to academic institutions and associations on five continents.

One of Chayet’s recent achievements was his involvement in developing the Light Adjustable Lens now used in cataract surgery. His research was in collaboration with Dr. Robert H. Grubbs, the 2005 Nobel Prize winner in chemistry.

Chayet is general director of CODET Vision Institute in Tijuana — codetvision.com — which has five doctors on its staff. Chayet was named the Shiley Eye Center Honorary Professor of the Year in 2001 and earned the International Society of Refractive Surgery’s Casebees Award in 2005.
