A member of the California State Bar Association and state-licensed real estate broker, 35-year-old Richard Geisler has brought depth of experience in effective problem solving and management of teams of consultants, municipal staff and decision makers to San Diegos J. Whalen Associates Inc., an advocacy and management firm specializing in land use, governmental affairs, finance, redevelopment, retail development, affordable housing, senior housing and other development challenges.
As the firms vice president, Geislers proficiency in governmental affairs, permitting and land-use consultation has helped JWA expand. Now, he will be vice president and broker of record for JWA Real Properties for the company.
A former policy analyst for San Diego City Council President Scott Peters, Geisler was appointed to the Southeastern Economic Development Corp. board of directors by Mayor Jerry Sanders in 2006. He is a founder of the NGO Policy Group and NGO Advocacy Group, formed to provide governmental affairs and assistance to nonprofit organizations, and Castro-Limon America, a nonprofit recently formed to support Tijuanas Fundacion Castro-Limon, which provides free treatment to children with cancer and their families. Hes also a member of LEAD San Diegos class of 2008.
