Nolte: Right Track Number Hits 50% for First Time in Poll History

By John Nolte | Breitbart

“Holy crap – it happened!” Rasmussen’s Mark Mitchell announced on X, adding: “For the first time in our polling history, A MAJORITY says the country is on the right track.”

He added, “Don’t F it up, Republicans.”

Rasmussen first began tracking the right track-wrong track number almost 20 years ago, in 2006.

Rasmussen reported the specific numbers on X. As you can see, this is not a one-night aberration. Rather, it’s a tracking poll that averages the last five days:

Reconciling Republicans

By Kim Strassel| Wall Street Journal

The Beltway press corps loves predicting GOP failure, and so it goes with the House GOP tax- and spending-cut bill now headed to the Senate. Media seers foretell irreconcilable Senate differences, a House-Senate war, Donald Trump showdowns and possible collapse.

Real challenges do exist, but the Senate path is actually more straightforward than the House’s was. The politics of the Republican Senate are less complicated, the numbers (a bit) more generous, and the members generally sympathetic to the need to keep the House on board. And always remember that a Senate win here is 51 votes—not unanimity. House Republicans hold 53 seats, though they could lose up to three members with Vice President JD Vance serving as a tiebreaker. Here are the main sticking points and how GOP senators envision working through them:

Semi-Finalists Announced in Fair’s Fair-tastic Foods Competition

By Del Mar Fairgrounds

The San Diego County Fair on Wednesday revealed the Fair-tastic Foods Competition’s mouth-watering semi-finalists.

And soon, Fairgoers will be able to taste the best of the best for half off as part of the Fair’s new “Foodie Fridays” promotion.

The San Diego County Fair’s Fair-Tastic Foods competition, now in its third year, challenges Fair concessionaires to create new and unique Fair fare in three distinct categories: Theme, WOW and a new category, So San Diego. Each category has two classes for sweet and savory items.

The 45 semi-finalists will be pared down to 18 finalists on the Fair’s opening day, June 11.  And as part of the Fair’s new “Foodie Fridays” promotion, Fairgoers can try any and all of the top 18 finalist entries for 50% off every Friday of the Fair from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

On the first Friday (June 13) of the Fair, a panel of celebrity judges — San Diego Magazine’s Troy Johnson, Univision’s Rudy Acosta, and MasterChef Season 6 champion Claudia Sandoval — will pick the six winners at a special event at 11:30 a.m. in the Paddock.

In addition, the event will feature a 24-seat tasting panel, including winners from the Fair’s media partners, various content creators and Fair VIPs. This group will taste all 18 finalist samples and will judge each entry, resulting in a “People’s Choice” selection that can be used as a tiebreaker, if needed.

After all is said, eaten and judged, the Best of Show winner will receive bragging rights and inclusion on a large perpetual trophy. Winners are also prominently displayed on the Fair Food Map and signage throughout the Fairgrounds.

Last year, TJ’s Ice Cream’s Disco Pop Shake took home the “Best of Show” award. In 2023, Biggy’s Hot Cheeto Chicken Sandwich nabbed the top prize.
