Despite controversy, Kehlani played to packed Pride crowd

The goal was to have fun – and Kehlani delivered.
The R&B singer displayed soaring vibrato vocals that could turn dark and soulful as they sang such hits as “Hate the Club” and recent release “Folded” while rocking a gold mini dress with a ruffled skirt.
Despite weeks of controversy in the lead up to the San Diego Pride Festival, Saturday’s headline show occurred conflict-free, with a large crowd jammed into a field at Balboa Park.
NASCAR nearing announcement of major race in San Diego

NASCAR is pressing pause on its Chicago Street Race, answering at least one major question about its schedule for next season – and part of that answer lies in San Diego.
The plan is to replace its Chicago stop with a street race in the region, perhaps in Coronado. According to Racer.com, NASCAR officials have reached terms for the race to take place in 2026, and an announcement could come in the next week.
Though the Chicago race happened in early July, it’s unclear what time of year NASCAR would come to San Diego, Racer reported.
Water Bosses Move on From Influential Leader

representatives on the board of the Metropolitan Water District will not enjoy, or have to deal with, the guidance of Chris Frahm, the former chair of the Water Authority, who became the architect of its legal approach to Metropolitan.
In this week’s Politics Report, Scott Lewis broke the news that Frahm’s contract would not be coming back to the board after a tense exchange at the last board meeting.
