California’s pro-housing laws have failed to raise new home numbers

By Dan Walters | CalMatters

California YIMBY, an organization founded eight years ago to promote housing construction in response to an ever-increasing gap between demand and supply, held a victory party in San Francisco recently.

“Welcome to the most victorious of California YIMBY’s victory parties,” Brian Hanlon, founder and CEO of the organization, told attendees.

Its acronym (Yes In My Backyard) symbolizes its years-long battle with NIMBYs (Not in My Backyard), people and groups who have long thwarted housing projects by pressuring local governments that control land use.

Recruitment of California Male Physicians

By Patrick Wagner, M.D. | California Globe

Newsomcare would not be feasible without the effeminization of male California physicians. The process of effeminization of male doctors here in California began in about the mid-1980’s. Effeminization is a by-product of “managed care”, or bureaucracy administered “healthcare,” which ultimately did away with private practice medicine.

The forerunners of Newsomcare are Senator Ted Kennedy with his call for government-controlled healthcare back in the 1970’s, Hillarycare in the early 1990’s, and Obamacare in 2010. And now we have Newsomcare, a complete failure! Hmmmm! Government planning and administration of physician economics?

Please note that “healthcare” (better called “medical care” in the following sentences) is the personal opportunity or responsibility of the doctor and the patient, not the government and the patient or the government and the doctor. In fact, the intimate and trusting doctor- patient relationship is based on one doctor and one patient, and that trust is strengthened by both being committed to caring about each other’s positions in the arrangement and to none other. In this serious business model, the patient is plagued with a disease, and the doctor is an equipped, highly experienced, and eager expert warrior against that disease.Trust (or faith) plus commitment equals hope, which is the expectation of a great business deal. The outcome of that deal is a satisfied and cured patient and a properly paid physician for services rendered, period!

Save America: It’s Time to Nuke the Filibuster

By Katy Grimes | California Globe

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats have used the filibuster to block the House-passed bipartisan spending bill 14 times. How is the Democrat Senate minority able to impose this kind of legislative gridlock over the majority Senate Republicans?

“Filibustering includes any use of dilatory or obstructive tactics to block a measure by preventing it from coming to a vote. The possibility of filibusters exists because Senate rules place few limits on Senators’ rights and opportunities in the legislative process,” a special report from Congress.gov on the history of filibustering explains.

President Donald Trump has been strongly urging the Senate to terminate the filibuster and get government open again.
