Trump, in seemingly offering up San Diego as ‘small price to pay’ for Iran war, sparks clash between critics, White House

Elected officials across the political aisle continued to denounce President Donald Trump Tuesday after a speech in which he addressed the ongoing Iran war and rising prices by seemingly offering up Los Angeles and San Diego as potential targets.

“They can take out a city. Let them take, let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego,” he told a rowdy crowd of Nebraska Republicans Monday night.

Officials quickly took to social media to blast the president, but the White House argued that president’s words had been taken out of context and that he was actually saying that California cities could have been threatened by Iran.

County releases data on San Diego trash fee error that overcharged residents $11.8 million

A homeowner on Meade Avenue in Normal Heights was billed $3,152 for the city’s new trash fee, even though the correct annual charge was $534.

The $2,618 overcharge was the largest among 44,038 San Diego properties that received inflated trash fee assessments because of a city spreadsheet error.

County of San Diego data, obtained by Times of San Diego, shows 15 homes were overbilled by more than $2,000 on their property tax bills.
