Polling Shows County’s Challenges to Raise Revenue

Early this year, county officials paid for a poll to gauge how voters would feel about hypothetical tax increases.
It turns out there are big hurdles for all three approaches the county eyed.
The survey, conducted Feb. 22 through March 1, showed San Diegans are most enthused about taxing the rich. A majority of voters in all five supervisorial districts also think the county is headed in the wrong direction.
